sneak peak

Zoals jullie weten zit ik in het Design Team van Pimp-a-Pumpkin. We hebben een aantal opdrachten van marianne gekregen en hebben daar tot eind juli de tijd voor om deze aan jullie te presenteren. Om jullie een klein beetje nieuwsgierig te maken hier een kleine sneak.
De opdracht was maak een Layout gebaseerd op een bepaald moment en we mochten een layout van the one and only Tim Holtz als inspiratie gebruiken :D

As you all know I'm one of the designers of Pimp-a-Pumpkin. From Marianne we've got some challenges which we have to complete before the end of July. I'm going to tease you a little and I will give you a little sneak in advance.
The challenge was to make a Layout based on one moment in your life and we could use a Layout from the one and only Tim Holtz as inspiration :D

Happy Birthday - Hartelijk Gefeliciteerd

Een oud collega van mij was afgelopen zondag jarig. Ik heb dit kaartje voor haar gemaakt. Het is naar een voorbeeld uit de Cards Only.

A former collegue of mine had her birthday last sunday. I've made this card for her.

Slechte blogger op dit moment/I'm a bad blogger at this moment

Ik ben een slechte blogger op dit moment, maar het is ook zo'n mooi weer dat ik liever buiten zit of er met de kids tussen uit ga.
Maar dat wil niet zeggen dat ik ook helemaal niets heb gedaan :) ik heb nog heel wat om jullie te laten zien. De kaarten laat ik nu al zien, maar op de Lootjes moeten jullie nog even wachten :D

I'm a bad blogger at the moment, but with such beautiful weather I rather sit outside or go out with the girls.
But that doesn't mean that I didn't do nothing at all ;) I have loads of projects I want to show to you all. The cards I can show you, but for the scrappages you will have to wait :D

Dit kaartje maakte een demonstratrice bij ons. Ik vond hem zo leuk dat ik haar vroeg voor de beschrijving. Nou was ik laatst op een van mijn favorite blogs aan het kijken en daar stond hij ook. Ik vond dat Rach het designpapier zo mooi had gekozen dat ik besloot om hetzelfde te doen, maar dan anders :D

This card a demonstrator at Pipoos made for her class. I really liked it so I asked her for the discription of it. A few days ago I was hopping from one favorite blog to another and there I found him again :D
I really thought that Rach did a perfect job, the papers everything just fit together. I decided to "lift" a little but a little different :D

Spelen met Gesso/play with Gesso

Iedere week wordt bij Pimp-a-Pumpkin een product in de spotlights gezet. Deze week is dat Gesso. Een zeer leuk product wat voor meerdere doeleinden gebruikt kan worden.
Op verzoek van Marianne - indien tijd en zin ;D - werd het Design Team gevraagd om een voorbeeld Layout te maken met Gesso

Every week at Pimp-a-Pumpkin there's one product that goes into the Spotlights. This week it is the medium Gesso. A very diverse product, you can use it for many opportunities.
On Marianne's request - if we had time and if we wanted - the Design Team was asked to make an example with Gesso

Dit is mijn voorbeeld/ this is my example




Ik heb een stuk krant (alleen tekst) dun ingesmeerd met Gesso. Deze op het cardstock gelegd en goed aangedrukt. Langzaam het krantenpapier verwijderen en dan blijft als het goed is een afdruk zichtbaar van de tekst.
Met een wc-rolletje rondjes gestempeld en mijn favo weer eens uit de kast gehaald: bubbeltjes plastic ;D
De rand is bewerkt met de distresstool van Tim, een aantal scheuren zijn vastgeniet en verder heb ik nog met de hotfix diverse halve rondjes op de Layout gecreërd.
Bloemen zijn uitgesneden met de cricut uit krantenpapier.

I took a piece of newspaper (only words) and put a thin layer of Gesso on it. Then you put it on your cardstock. Press tight. Then slowely remove the newspaper. If you do it right pieces of the paper will stuck on your cardstock or be transfered on your cardstock. With an empty toilet roll I stamped circles on the Layout and the black rounds are made with packing plastic my favorite :D
All four sides have met the distress tool of Tim Holtz, some gapes are pinned down with staples. Further I put some half rounds with the Hotfix tool.
The flowers are cut with the Cricut

De inspiratie voor deze layout is gehaald uit een artikel uit Scrapbook magazine van Peter van Tilburg (hé, familie misschien?? Mijn meisjesnaam is ook van Tilburg :) haha)
The inpiration for this layout I had from an article out of the Scrapbook magazine. It was from Peter van Tilburg (hey, family perhaps??? My maiden name is also van Tilburg :) hahah)

Vaderdag kaart/Father's day card

Het Designteam van Pimp-a-Pumpkin kreeg voor de komende twee maanden 4 opdrachten.
Dit is de eerste. Hij moest in ieder geval voor vandaag af zijn, aangezien het volgende week al vaderdag is :D

The Design Team of Pimp-a-Pumpkin got 4 assignments for the coming two months. This is the first. Make a father's day Card. It was due for today as Father's day is allready this coming weekend ;D

De basiskaart is een transparante sheet die ik gesneden heb tot een 14 x 14 cm kaart
Het designpapier is voordat het allemaal opgeplakt is allemaal beinkt met distress inkt.

Juni Challenge bij Creat 4 fun/June Challenge at create 4 fun

Bij Create 4 fun wordt iedere maand een leuke challenge georganiseerd. Iedere maand krijg je een sketch. Hiermee kun je dan een mooie kaart maken en de mooiste wordt beloond met een prijs. Deze maand is het zelfs een hele mooie prijs : EEN CUTTLEBUG!!!!!

At create 4 fun they have wonderful challenges. Every month they provide you a sketch. You can create a beautiful card with it and you can win beautiful prizes. This month it's a very beautiful price as wel : A CUTTLEBUG!!!

Tilde is "aangekleed" met het Bittersweet papier
The image of Tilda is dressed up with the same Bittersweet papers
Voordat het papier is opgeplakt heb ik het nog beinkt
I ink all the papers before I put them on the card

Juni wedstrijd Layout/June Challenge Layout

Iedere maand kun je op het forum van Pimp-a-Pumpkin meedoen aan een open wedstrijd. Toegankelijk voor iedereen, dus schrijf je gratis in en doe mee!!!!

Every month you can participate at the open challenges of the Pimp-a-Pumpkin forum. It's open for everyone so join in at the forum and make your Layout!!!

Vanaf deze maand gaat het Design team wat betreft de "open" wedstrijden niet meer meedoen, maar in plaats daarvan gaan we jullie al een beetje voorzien van wat inspiratie. Ieder lid van het Designteam zal een voorbeeld maken voor de desbetreffende wedstrijd. Deze zal met het in de lucht gaan van de wedstrijd ook meteen erbij getoond worden. Deze maand was het daarvoor ietwat kort dag, vandaar dat hij ook nu pas getoond wordt en niet bij het uitkomen van de wedstrijd.

As of this month the Design Team members are not going to participate in the "open" challenges. Instead of that we're going to give you some inspiration. Every member has to make an example Layout for that challenge. Shown directely when the challenges is declared open :D For this month the time was to limited, that's why the challenges is allready running for a few days and the Layouts are showing just now.

Ik heb de sketch niet helemaal gevolgd. I.p.v. 4 foto's heb ik er 3 genomen. Maar daar in tegen is de 3e foto wel groter.
De swirls in de hoeken zijn vervangen voor knopen en stoken papier.
Ik hoop dat jullie hieruit wat inspiratie krijgen want we rekenen op HEEL VEEL inzendingen :)

I didn't follow the sketch completely. Instead of 4 pics I only used 3, but the third is bigger.
The swirls in the corners are replaced by buttons and paper stripes.
I hope you will get much inspiration as we count on VERY MANY contestants.

Home Deco

Zoals beloofd, alleen iets later dan gepland ;) het gehele Home Deco stuk wat ik gemaakt heb voor het Design Team van Pimp-a-Pumpkin.

As promised, only what later as planned ;) the total Home Deco piece that I've made for the Design Team of Pimp-a-Pumpkin.

zoals jullie kunnen zien heb ik het in de vorm van een vogelhuisje gemaakt. De foto is ook van ons pimpelmeesje dat net op het moment dat hij uit het huisje vliegt door mijn camera wordt vastgelegd.

As you can see the piece is a birdhouse as the picture shows one of our gardenvisitors just flying out of one cought by my camera.

Ik heb van grijsboard een huisje gesneden met twee losse stukjes voor het dak
Deze zijn met een droge kwast voorzien van een laagje goudbruine acrylverf. Na het drogen is dit lichtelijk opgeschuurd met het schuurmaatje
Het achtergrond papier is van het dubbelzijdige Twinnia papier van Little Yellow Bycicle
Groene vilten "tak" is van Prima: Voila Rardenridge
De swirl is uit een oude wedstrijdbox. Deze is voorzien van een laag bruine verf, bewerkt met crackle medium en daarna is er een groene laag verf overheen gegaan waardoor de onderlaag door de bovenlaag heen te zien is door de crackles
De vogeltjes zijn gesneden met de cricut uit de cart Animal Kingdom
Bloemetjes zijn van Marianne Design.
Verder heb ik nog lint gebruikt (eigen voorraad) en hotfix steentjes op de foto

I've made from board the birdhouse, with two separate pieces to create the roof. These are painted with a dry foambrush in a layer of goldisch brown acrylic paint. After it dried it was polished lightely.
The background paper is from the doublesided Twinnia series of Little Yellow Bicycle.
The green felt is of Prima: Voila Rardenridge
The swirl I took from an old Match box from Pimp-a-Pumpkin. I put a brown paint on it, let it dry and put a layer of crackle medium on it. I finished it off with some green paint that when it comes in touch with the crackle the paint will "break" so you can see the paint that is underneath it.
The birdies are cut with the Cricut (Animal Kingdom)
Flowers are from Marianne Design, ribbon is from work and I used hotfix stones to put the circle around our birdie
